All the usual suspects were in the house and the answer to the big question everyone wants to know……it started about an hour and 20 minutes late. Anna showed up with both her daughter Bee and Harry Connick Jr. on her arm. Lil’ Kim was in the house but Michelle Rodriquez was the one wearing the ankle bracelet (wtf?). The collection was very vintage YSL. And when we say vintage YSL we mean just that. It wasn’t progressive or old with a new twist. It was straight up YSL pulled from the archives and slapped on the runway.
Some say he’s bored and just pulled this together at the last minut. If true, I don’t care – I still loved it. Marc showed a grown-up collection with long and lean silhouettes paired big hats that Greta Garbo would have loved. This was quite a departure from the usual rebellion and grunge MJ is known for. The show started with the models posing like mannequins as the drapes parted and then one by one they came to life and went their way down the runway. As a whole, this is one of the more sophisticated and wearable collections from Marc that I’ve seen in a very long time. I don’t exactly get the prime vantage points you know. At least not yet…
By the by, what was up with the renegade runway show going on outside? Did any of you catch it?
