I admit it, I am very good at reading e-mail, and flagging the mail that needs attending to, but when it comes to going back to that flagged mail…suffice it to say, I am a procrastinator, and sometimes I miss one…fortunately, I never, ever, delete my mailbox until I am sure it’s only nonsense and junk.

That’s how I was reminded about what seems to be a great newer company, Belen Enchandia and (forcing my inner procrastinator to stop telling me to leave it for later) I had to share!
There are 8 different styles available, and all of them are very nice, with small details, and touches, but this, a bag called Indulge me, is the one which, in light of a recent handbag tragedy caught my fancy.

Secreted inside it’s unassuming lipstick red outer shell, within the signature fuscia silk lining, is a waterproof compartment, perfect for stashing a wet umbrella, gym clothes, or perhaps, a leaky sippy cup (I did mention a recent handbag tragedy above…who knew a few ounces of water could do so much damage?). Truly, it is an inspired idea, the designer at Belen Enchandia ought to consider it for more styles.
Outstanding but hidden to the eye features aside, the Indulge Me like the other B.E. bags is made by hand, of ultra soft leather and in limited quantities. If ordered directly they can be manufactured to client specifications.

This is a company that was founded when the owner, Jackie Cawthra, then a practicing lawyer (and handbag enthusiast) in London, noticed the loss of quality European workmanship as well personal service in the luxury market and I suppose heard her calling thus Belen Enchandia was born to fill that shrinking niche. Even more incredibly, the bags are extremely affordable. Considering that these days $1200 gets you a designer bag, but very little in the way of exclusivity or attention (and in many cases, doesn’t buy quality or workmanship…just a designer name) the idea that for less than $800 you can have everything BUT someone else’s name on a plaque is amazing. The Indulge Me is just $625.
